About Me

I love my job! It is a special privilege to hold space for someone who needs to be heard. It is a beautiful thing to build trust, an alliance, a therapeutic relationship, with another human and then travel with them on their journey to heal, grow, or resolve challenges.

As a generalist counsellor, I get to work with a diverse range of people and problems. Predominantly my work is with grief and loss, trauma, and relationship issues. I very much enjoy couples therapy, as so many of our problems relate to relationships. At least with couples therapy we have both parties in the room and we can effectively work together to address the issues. Working with teens has become another special interest of mine and I honour the therapeutic relationship I build with these struggling young people.

I am a Bachelor degree qualified counsellor, registered with the Australian Counselling Association. I currently run my own private practice, located in Croydon and Warrandyte. I also work for Life Therapies Victoria and numerous other organisations to deliver EAP counselling throughout greater Melbourne. I am available for online or telehealth sessions as well as in person.

My yoga therapy training allows me to work somatically with physical movement to address physical, mental, and emotional issues. We also have the highly effective yogic breathing practices to utilise, which directly influences our nervous system to bring calm and an enhanced feeling of wellbeing. Mindfulness and meditative practices are also used to support clients towards their therapeutic goals.

I am certified yoga therapist and teacher, registered with Yoga Australia and Yoga Alliance International. I write and teach yoga training programs for yoga teachers wishing to specialise in yoga for fertility, and this work brings me great joy as teachers specialised in this area are much needed. I mentor yoga teachers in the specialised fields of pre/postnatal and fertility yoga.

About

My approach

I have an eclectic approach to counselling. My knowledge of a diverse range of counselling practices allows me to choose methods that are best suited to your individual needs and challenges.

For couple's therapy I utilise Gottman Therapy and Emotion Focussed Therapy (EFT). Depending what is needed in an individual session, I may draw from a range of evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focussed Therapy, and Grief and Loss therapy.

I see myself as someone who is on your team. We work together to address challenges with the spirit of creative collaboration. For this process to be positive and effective, a solid foundation of trust and understanding needs to be established.

I am here to listen to you, with no sense of judgement, to gain a thorough understanding of your challenges, needs and desires. From here we come up with a plan and then work together, step by step towards achieving your goals.

Yoga Therapy

Yoga therapy offers you the opportunity to address your individual challenges in a wholistic way. Together with your therapist you will explore not only the presenting issue, but also what else is happening in your world that could be contributing.

A yoga therapist is required to have appropriate qualifications and extensive teaching experience. This education and experience enables your therapist to appropriately choose which of the many tools of yoga will best support you and how to apply the tools in a way that will benefit your unique circumstances.

Our goal is to relieve disturbances or unease in your body and mind so that you can lead your best life. Working one-to-one with your yoga therapist, you will learn to practice yoga in a way that supports your individual needs and learn new self-empowering skills that will benefit you throughout your life.
